The house that "gaga" built....
I can't believe I haven't posted a layout since Dec. 23!
I've been doing a lot of paper pages, but haven't been good about taking photos and posting...Kinda taking a break from sharing but I'm sure I'll get organized and start up again.
Anyway, here's a digital layout I've been working on for about 2 days!
It started off as an "assignment" on Jessica Sprague's blog, who is just about my favorite digi-scrapper! She has tutorials every Friday on digital techniques and also writes for Creating Keepsakes. The latest topic was how to use the Horizontal Type Tool -the paper-scrapping equivalent of using a die-cut machine/tool to cut out letters out of patterned paper.
I used the technique on the word "the House" in the title. You can't really tell, because I chose a really subtle pattern (Kate Pertiet's Cabana White Paper), but I like how the stroke makes the title pop (as suggested by Jessica).
Since I got PS CS2, I've been slowly figuring out to use it. Even just basic stuff. Stuff I should already know from PS Elements. For example, I didn't realize that there is an easy way of finding a layer (when you have dozens and dozens on your page). Until yesterday, I would scroll through the list looking for the one I wanted. Not the most effective way, especially if you have failed to re-name your layers and can't tell one from the other. Last night, I discovered that you can right-click on an area on your layout and the list of layers will pop up and you can then select it. Presto! I know, basic stuff, but it was a revelation to me.
Anyway, this layout includes some photos from a previous post. I knew I had to make a page about Jamie and Sofi's first graham cracker house creation....
